Ava (she, her, hers) is a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from George Fox University and additionally is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I (CADC-I). Since 2014, Ava has worked in inpatient adult co-occurring treatment and outpatient youth drug and alcohol treatment programs, assisting teens on reconnection with school/work and development of life skills, and has enjoyed supporting families as they navigate life together. Her work experience with many levels of interventions and in multiple environments help diversify her knowledge base and provide a spectrum of tools to offer to a client’s wellness. Ava has experience working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, complex trauma, domestic violence, substance use disorders, and relational issues.
Ava works from a strengths-based perspective and uses a client-centered approach as she has found that this aligns with her personal values as well as helps the client feel that they are making measurable goals to work towards. Ava utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy tools and motivational interviewing techniques to give clients the tools they are looking for, and grow their motivation to living a life of wellness.
Ava enjoys hiking and spending time in nature, reading, baking, tending to her plants, playing with her dog, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys exploring with clients what supports are currently in their lives, personal strengths and values, and what they enjoy in life.
